Using Prisms to Measure the Eye Deviation

   Prisms are triangular-shaped optical devices which alter the path of light rays. If an abnormal eye deviation is observed, prisms are used to "neutralize" the movement, quantifying the observation. These measurements are compared at each visit to assess the patient's progress as well as the need for  treatment, which may include prescription glasses or surgery.
