After registering, you are directed to an individual room where members of the nursing staff, anesthesia, and I will do an assessment and physical exam prior to surgery. Blood may be drawn for additional tests if deemed necessary, and adults may undergo an electrocardiogram and/or chest x-ray. You will be asked to sign a consent to allow surgery, and we will answer last-minute questions before moving to the operating room.
