Measuring Depth Perception

   Subjective appreciation of graded distance-near disparity is one our most highly refined senses, so-called depth perception - and it may be abnormal in children who have strabismus. This can be tested using polarized lenses and special, carefully-constructed overlapped transparencies as shown here. We are careful to be certain that children understand the test before documenting an apparently sub-normal response.
